Sarah King bumps into the Boyntons at a hotel in Jerusalem, and quickly
develops both a romantic attachment to Raymond and a growing sense of unease
about the Boyntons. Far from being a pleasant old lady, Mrs Boynton seems to
exert a sinister spell over her desperately unhappy children.

Other guests at the hotel include Nadine's would-be suitor Jefferson Cope,
haughty Lady Westholme, timid Miss Pryce, cheerful Mr Higgs and psychologist
Dr Gerard, who sees that Ginevra Boynton is fast losing her grip on
reality...

This motley group of travellers finds itself journeying together into the
wilderness of Petra. Far from civilization, the simmering tensions of the
Boynton family are brought to a boiling point - with deadly consequences.

Can the Boyntons escape their mother's malignant shadow and find happiness
before it's too late?
